Shipping Policy

Shipping and processing

Emerald Houseplants ships plants rooted in soil in their nursery pots. We pack orders with care to help keep plants secure during transit.

Orders are typically packed and shipped within 2-5 business days when Emerald Houseplants is not set on Away/Vacation, please note that Holidays do not count as a business day. You’ll receive a tracking number when your order ships. Shipping rates appear at checkout. Eligible orders of $65 or more receive free shipping.

Shipping addresses and delivery

Please check your shipping address before completing your order. If you notice an error, email emeraldhouseplants@gmail.com immediately. We can try to correct it before shipment, but cannot guarantee an address change after the carrier accepts the package.

Please follow your tracking and bring your package inside promptly after delivery, especially during very hot or cold weather.

Missing packages

If your package has stopped moving or has not arrived, contact us with your order number so we can review the tracking information. You can also start a USPS Missing Mail search.

If tracking says “delivered” but you cannot find the package, check the delivery area and contact your local USPS office promptly to request an investigation. We’ll review missing-package concerns based on the tracking information and circumstances. USPS insurance claims, when eligible, are subject to USPS’s rules and approval; coverage does not guarantee reimbursement.

Cold-weather shipping

Cold temperatures during transit can harm live plants. If temperatures along the shipping route may fall below 40°F, we recommend contacting us before ordering and adding a heat pack if available.

Our heat packs are rated for 48 hours. They may stop producing heat before delivery if shipping takes longer, and they do not guarantee protection against cold damage. Orders shipped without a heat pack are generally not eligible for a plant-price refund for damage caused by cold exposure, except where required by law or where an error on our part caused the problem.

If the forecast makes shipping risky, please contact us before your order ships to discuss delaying shipment. For concerns about a plant’s condition when it arrives, see our Return & Refund Policy.
